Newport is a mere 15 minute drive north, where you can take in a whale watching charter trip or visit the Hatfield Marine Science Center or the Oregon Coast Aquarium. You could also take in a show at the Newport Performing Arts Center and then return to Waldport for a moonlit stroll on an uncrowded beach.
