Yachats, Oregon
Yachats, Oregon has a beautiful rocky landscapes along the ocean with lush forest surrounding the city. Here the mountains move down to the sea and the terrain becomes as rugged as any coastline on earth.
Just south of town is Cape Perpetua, the highest point on the Oregon coast. Yachats is situated at the southern end of Lincoln County. Waldport is the next community north and Florence is located 26 miles south, by way of one of the most scenic stretches of Highway 101.
Located 25 miles North of Florence, and 25 miles South of Newport, Yachats has a mild climate with a week or two of frost in the winter and even occasionally and inch or so of snow that may last a day or two. Yachats is popular with anglers who come primarily for the smelt season between April and October. This is one of the few areas in the world where hundreds of these small sardine-like fish come to shore to spawn. The nearby Yachats River is a popular spot for salmon and steelhead fishing.
